Battle Creek Church (Battle Creek, MI)
Stained Glass Denver partnered with Battle Creek Church in Michigan on one of the most technically ambitious and visually dramatic installations in our portfolio—a 30-foot-wide, 17-foot-tall LED-backlit stained glass wall designed to mimic natural sunlight streaming through a traditional window. Because the church’s 100-year-old brick sanctuary could not be structurally altered, we engineered a custom steel frame and more than 1,000 pounds of layered, hand-painted stained glass that could be mounted securely onto the existing wall. Working closely with a religious artist, we translated a cherished oil painting into stained glass, carefully developing lead linework, selecting base colors, and applying layered kiln-fired paint to recreate the depth and emotion of the original artwork. The resulting 200-square-foot installation is a radiant, spiritually powerful centerpiece that unites centuries-old craftsmanship with cutting-edge LED technology—transforming the entire sanctuary with reverent, luminous beauty.
