St. Ann Catholic Church (Excelsior Springs, MO)
Stained Glass Denver partnered with St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs on a complete sanctuary transformation that revitalized a dim 1970s interior into a radiant, uplifting worship environment. The original space featured dark wood paneling and dated stained glass that cast heavy, muted tones across the sanctuary. Working closely with Father Kevin Drew and designer Sarah Marai, we replaced the old glass with custom stained glass rich in color and theological symbolism. The highlight of the renovation was a stunning LED-backlit St. Anne window installed on a wall without any natural light source, designed to glow with soft, radiant illumination. Sarah incorporated garden and trellis motifs symbolizing St. Anne as the nurturing support for the Virgin Mary—the “Mystical Rose”—and integrated subtle red accents throughout the space representing the mystical and royal bloodline of Christ. The completed work fills the sanctuary with warmth, clarity, and spiritual energy, reconnecting parishioners with the beauty and meaning of their sacred space.
