A Closer Look at Retail Redesign Using Stained Glass for Alter’d State

Many people think of stained glass as a feature that belongs solely in churches, but in truth stained glass resides in a variety of buildings. In commercial buildings, stained glass provides privacy and creates a distinctly elegant, high end look. Just recently, our team had the opportunity to work on a unique retail stained glass project near Denver in Boulder, Colorado. We partnered with Altar’d State, a national retailer who sells faith-based merchandise, as well as several other builders on the creation of their store. Within a short time span, we were able to create over 400 total square feet of custom leaded glass, and help this wonderful philanthropic organization build a new store and continue to carry out their mission.

Using Stained Glass for Retail Design for Alter’d State

To accomplish this project on time, our team worked with skill, precision, and dedication to create the stained glass for Altar’d State that would enhance their retail location. The stained glass needed to be fully assembled within three weeks, after which it would need to be installed in the new building. This meant that we could afford no mistakes. Every measurement, every detail needed to be exact.

While we assembled the leaded glass panels, other professionals worked on the rest of the building. Some aided in designing the interior to add decor and create storage racks and others worked on the exterior to install copper cladding and metal framing and so on. We needed to create stained glass for three different areas: the storefront, the dressing room area, and an interior rotunda. Creating the curved pieces was by far the most difficult part of the project, but by being careful and thorough, we were able to get the job done. All pieces were installed with ease on time.

The retail stained glass we created provided Altar’d State with many benefits. The leaded glass on the interior added privacy. And the decorative glass storefront created an attractive visual that would help to catch the attention of shoppers passing by. Altogether, the stained glass helped to create an ethereal, angelic ambiance that was perfect for a religious retail store.
