1. Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception
The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is located on the corner of Logan Street and Colfax Avenue and is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Denver. There are over 75 stained glass windows in the Cathedral. They were designed and created in Munich by the Royal Bavarian Art Institute.
2. The Sports Authority Sports Castle
Of course, the Sports Castle didn’t always house Sports Authority. The building was constructed in 1925 by architect Jules Jacques Benois Benedict for the purpose of housing a Chrysler dealership. It was constructed in the Roman Gothic style and features several large stained glass windows, some of which display the winged Chrysler symbol.
3. The Colorado State Capitol Building
In the Hall of Fame rotunda in the Colorado State Capitol Building are 16 round stained glass windows that feature portraits of those who have helped build Colorado and made it what it is today. As if this display isn’t impressive enough, on the second floor of the building you can also find the Emily Griffith window, artwork that features Colorado’s famous educator who paved the way for equal opportunity in education.
4. St. Paul United Methodist Church
The St. Paul United Methodist Church was built in 1910 and is located on East 16th Avenue and Ogden Street. There are over 18 stained glass windows in the building that are dedicated to reminding worshippers of the lessons found in the scriptures.
5. Trinity United Methodist Church
The Trinity United Methodist Church was constructed in Modern Gothic style architecture in 1887. The church houses an incredible collection of stained glass windows designed by Healy and Millett of Chicago and the J&R Lamb Company of New York. This includes the Resurrection Window which has a design that’s symbolic of the Holy Trinity and features an angel in the center.
